Do you suffer from oily roots but the rest of the hair as dry as the Sahara desert?

Have you ever had oily roots but the rest of the hair as dry as the Sahara desert?

The problem of oily hair roots and dry ends is a common issue that many people face. This occurs when the scalp produces too much oil, leaving the hair roots greasy, while the ends become dry and brittle.

Sarah has long, thick hair that is naturally curly. She washes her hair every other day with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. However, after a few hours of washing, her hair roots start to feel greasy, and the ends become dry and frizzy.

Sarah finds this problem frustrating as it makes her hair look unkempt and difficult to manage. She tries different products and techniques to fix the issue, such as using dry shampoo to absorb the oil, applying hair oil to the ends, and avoiding using heat tools.

Despite these efforts, Sarah continues to struggle with oily roots and dry ends, which affects her confidence and self-esteem.

Sounds familiar?

Do you have oily roots? Do your hair roots ache sometimes? That is because the hair follicle can sometimes traps debris in the root due to oiliness and cause ache as the hair strand cant move freely.

Here is how I advised Sarah to solve her hair issues and so can you benefit from these tips.

Firstly Sarah was over washing her hair to get rid of the oily roots. I asked her to Only wash every third day and also:

  1. Use a clarifying shampoo once a month to remove any buildup on the hair. Product buildup can make high porosity hair feel heavy and greasy.
  2. Avoid using hot tools like straighteners, curling irons. Only use blow dryers on medium or low heat. If you must use heat, apply a heat protectant spray first like Luxe 10.
  3. Use hair SPF to protect hair from damage due to sun. Use Luxe 10 before going out in sun.
  4. Apply leave-in conditioner or hair oil after every wash to lock in moisture and prevent the hair from becoming too dry. Use Luxe 10 as it is the best leave in hair conditioner.
  5. Use a wide-tooth comb or detangling brush to detangle the hair gently. Do not pull or tug at the hair as it can cause breakage.
  6. When drying your hair, gently squeeze out excess water with a microfiber towel or an old t-shirt. Do not rub the hair with a towel as it can cause frizz and breakage.
  7. Avoid using harsh chemicals or treatments such as relaxers or perms that can damage the hair further. Or even Keratin treatments.
  8. Use Ammonia free hair dyes. Like Loreal Inoa.
  9. Never leave hair open at night before sleeping. always catch them in a fuzzy sock and tie with a hair tie. apply two pumps of luxe 10 before covering with sock and you will have soft magical curls in the morning.
  10. Use a hair supplement like Sabbskin ChubbyHair which will not only improve hair health but also scalp health! My oily roots have turned into smooth hair thanks to chubby hair.

By following this advice, Sarah's hair began to improve over time. Her hair roots become less oily, and the ends become softer and more manageable. She feels more confident and satisfied with her hair's appearance, and the problem of oily hair roots and dry ends became a thing of the past.
