Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What makes SABBSKIN different from other skincare brands?

Most skincare is formulated for one default skin type and tested on a narrow range of skin tones. SABBSKIN starts from the opposite end: we formulate for how melanin-rich, sensitive skin actually responds — to sun, stress, hormones, and inflammation. That means gentle actives at meaningful percentages, barrier-first formulas, and light-therapy devices designed with Fitzpatrick III–VI skin in mind. Skin response, not skin type.

Q2. What is the i68™ Complex?

i68™ is our in-house framework mapping 68 pathways through which stress shows up on melanin-rich skin — pigmentation, inflammation, barrier, healing, and hormonal pathways. Every product is designed against specific pathways rather than a vague "skin type," which is why our routines are matched to your skin's response.

Q3. Is SABBSKIN suitable for melanin-rich skin?

It was built for it. Brown, South Asian, Middle Eastern, African, East Asian, and Hispanic skin tones are our starting point, not an afterthought — from the actives we choose (gentle, non-irritating, pigment-aware) to the wavelengths in our LED devices.

Q4. I have sensitive, reactive skin. Can I use your products?

Our formulas are chosen to be gentle on reactive skin — no unnecessary fragrance load, no harsh alcohol-heavy bases, and actives selected to avoid the irritation-rebound cycle. Always patch test first, introduce one new product at a time, and reply to any of our emails if you want help sequencing your routine.

Q5. Will your products help with dark marks left after breakouts (PIH)?

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation — the mark that stays after the breakout leaves — is one of the most common concerns for melanin-rich skin, and it's central to how we formulate. Our approach: calm the inflammation first, support the barrier, then use gentle brightening actives like vitamin C and niacinamide to improve the look of uneven tone. We brighten what's yours; we never whiten. Individual results vary.

Q6. Are your ingredients clean?

We formulate with intention: named actives at disclosed percentages, no mercury, no hydroquinone, no bleaching agents — ever. If an ingredient is in the bottle, it has a job, and we'll tell you what that job is.

Q7. Where are SABBSKIN products made?

Our head office and heart are in Ontario, Canada, and our products are made to Canadian cosmetic standards.

Q8. How do I choose the right products for me?

Start with your skin's loudest signal — marks, dullness, reactivity, dryness, or thinning hair — and take our 60-second quiz, or use the Build Your Ritual page. One concern, one ritual, three steps. Still unsure? Contact us and we'll match you personally.

Q9. What is the TressFull™ LED Hair Cap and how do I use it?

TressFull is our hands-free LED cap for thinning-looking hair. It uses pulsed dual-wavelength red and near-infrared light at 10 Hz — rhythmic pulses rather than continuous light. Wear it about 10 minutes a day; pair it with Chubby Hair Serum on the scalp for the full ritual. Consistency matters more than intensity — think in weeks, not days. Individual results vary.

Q10. How long until I see results?

Honest timelines: hydration and comfort improve within days; the look of tone and texture typically improves over 4–8 weeks; the look of dark marks takes 8–12 weeks with daily SPF; hair rituals need 6–8+ weeks of consistency. Anyone promising overnight is selling irritation. Individual results vary.

Q11. Do I really need sunscreen every day?

Yes — especially for melanin-rich skin. Daily UV exposure deepens the appearance of existing marks and undoes brightening progress. SPF is the step that decides whether the rest of your ritual was worth it.

Q12. Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We ship from Canada to the US, UK, Middle East, and Pakistan (see checkout for your country). Duties and delivery times vary by destination; you'll see options at checkout.

Q13. What is your return policy?

Q14. Can I talk to a real person about my skin?

Yes — that's the point of us. Email, WhatsApp, or the contact form all reach humans who will actually look at your question. You can also book a one-on-one consultation with Sabbeen.
