Most retinol makes melanin-rich skin red, flaky, and frustrated. Aging Backwards™ uses 0.05% Encapsulated Retinaldehyde — designed to convert on contact without compromising your barrier. Barrier-repatterning: rebuilds while it corrects. Gentle enough for melanin-rich and sensitive skin, with no purging and no compromise. Start 2–3× per week and build to nightly use.

PM only. Apply a pea-sized amount to clean, dry skin after cleansing and before moisturizer. Start 2–3 nights per week, gradually building to nightly use as your skin adjusts. Always follow with SPF the next morning.

What Fitzpatrick types is Aging Backwards™ Retinol Night Cream suited for?

This product is particularly well-suited for: Sun-Sensitive Ritual (Fitzpatrick I–II), Pigment-Aware Ritual (Fitzpatrick III–IV). That said, we always recommend checking the ingredient list against your skin's specific sensitivities before adding anything new to your ritual.

How long before I notice a difference in my skin's appearance?

Individual results vary. For most skin-appearance goals, consistent use over 4–8 weeks is where people notice a visible difference. Some products (like exfoliants and brightening serums) may show faster surface results; others (like retinaldehyde formulas) build over longer periods. Appearance-focused, not medical.

Can I use this alongside other actives in my ritual?

Most Sabbskin products are designed to work together. If you're layering multiple actives, the general rule is: gentlest first, treat AM vs PM as separate slots for incompatible ingredients (e.g. Vitamin C AM / retinaldehyde PM), and introduce one new product at a time to observe your skin's response.
